Just like I don’t want this to become a blog that’s solely about my upcoming trip to Europe, fashion trends or a personal soapbox for vegetarianism, I also don’t want this to become a place where I only talk about my training for a half marathon. BUT, I do want to mention that I’ve been training for a few months now and plan to do the Madison Half Marathon in late May. Running has become a big part of my life and I feel it’s necessary to at least dedicate a few posts to how my training is coming along. I’m not a natural runner and have only recently started running on a regular basis but I have to say I’m really enjoying the sport and am getting excited to do my first race. Running was frustrating at first and I had a difficult time getting into the groove of how to manage both my breathing and my pace. Now, after a little more than two years of sporadic running and about two months of training, I’m up to seven miles {for my long weekend run}! I still have a really long way to go and I’m still running at about a 10 min/mile pace … so right now I’m just living by this motto: no matter how slow I go I’m still lapping everybody on the couch.
p.s. At this point I’m staying away from the treadmill but if you ever want a {slow} running partner let me know!

Keep it up, Hannah! I am so proud of you! You know who to call if you ever want a running buddy!

Hey, glad to see your loving it. I like that you mentioned breathing and pace. Sometimes it’s good to listen to your feet hitting the ground too. When you are in town you have a running buddy here.

Ahhh! I’m so excited for you! That’s my goal for this year too! Are you running for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society? I’d be happy to donate if you are!

No I’m not running for them but I should! I used to work for the LLS Team in Training program, I should give them a call…

Yeah, they’d probably hook you up with a shirt or whatever. Otherwise you can create your own fundraising page online at firstgiving.com and ask LLS to connect to it, and then all donations made through the secure server will be sent directly to them! That’s what my family does for our fundraising efforts for CFCF.
